transfer video files from PC to 360?

Hey can I transfer video files from the PC to the 360 wo puting the videos files on a fat 32 usb thumb drive? PC and 360 are both directly connected to the router.. I just bought my xbox last week, not finding it as easy to do this with as my ps3. Probally just because im new to it.

pretty sure its not possible. ive never had a problem with videos not being in sync on the 360, well i mean i have but it was cuz the video file its self not the xbox
 
damn xbox, I would use my ps3 more but there are always people on that tv :/

thx for the help collins, yeah i think it was the file too, the next episdode of the wire worked fine
