UK Laptop in US

Say i buy a UK laptop and a wireless router and bring it here to the US, would the UK laptop recognize the US wireless network?

I had no problems the last two times I brought my computers from the states to the UK, so I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way...

Yuo will have to set the wireless to the country (You dont need to but it helps) the range would be diffrent.
