New member with a question
I'm trying to uninstall norton.
Run Norton uninstaller and didn't delete all the files.
Tried windows add/remove and couldn't remove
WFSHELEX.DLL file.
Tried regedit, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Norton Utilities and still wouldn't delete the shared file WFSHELEX.DLL
Do I need to get an uninstall program for this file?
All this started with a norton upgrade 2001 to 2003.
You can't just upgrade norton without uninstalling a previous version first.

No you can (a) leave it or (b) delete it manually

Sounds like you'll have to remove it:
1. To remove the file, restart the comp and then delete it
2. Remove the registry key, open up regedit and hunt down that key and delete it (make a backup by exporting it if your're unsure)

Thank you for the input....
I finally was able to get "ALL" Norton files deleted.....
Took 3 times in regedit searching for Symantec..Norton...and WFSHELEX.DLL
Each time after a reboot, regedit found more files associated with NORTON.
I guess Symantec really imbeds itself into your system.
Anyway I was finally able to reinstall the newer version of Norton antivirus on a second hard drive then what windows is installed on.
