Vista SP2 Beta was released a few days ago if you haven't noticed.

I just finished installing it and can't see too much of a difference. However it does seem to wake up faster and obtain a wireless signal quicker. I will keep you'll posted on what I find.

EDIT: Before anyone asks, you first run the .cmd file. Go into the windows update and hit check for updates on the left side. You will install one small update followed by another small update. (you only need to reboot after the second update) Once you reboot, go back into the windows update. Hit check for updates again and you will be asked to install a new update. That update is the service pack

I see they finally have the link posted at MS for downloading it. They must have just stuck that up this week since the information on the beta version has been out for over a month already. Have to give it a try here!
 
Bummer!

I just installed XP back onto my machine cause vista was slow :mad:

But i'll trial it on my brother's PC, which is installing as i type, because he got a new hard drive :P :D

I friend has got it, and he wouldn't give me a link, but i've got it now :D

Vista SP2 beta: Nothing new has been added (yet)

If you install the beta of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) expecting to see visible changes to your version of Vista, you'll be sorely disappointed. At least in this initial beta, all the changes are under the hood, and even they are far from earth-shaking.

Microsoft says that it has fixed compatibility problems with the third-party Spy Sweeper and ZoneAlarm security applications, enhanced hardware support for Direct X, improved Wi-Fi connections after a system resumes from sleep, improved Windows Search, added support for the newest Bluetooth specification (2.1) and rolled up all previous Vista updates.

With the beta release on here I now see "Windows Vista (TM)" in the lower right corner of the screen with "Evaluation copy Build 6022" right under that. Gee? Why is it that I can put any service pack on without seeing any problems yet everyone else has issues of one type or another? :P
 
The betas are for testers and developers, you won't see all the real improvements until the final release in 2009. I never download betas myself because they are normally still buggy, they are still in development. There are a lot of changes coming.

good call. im still not quite sure, but im leaning towards waiting for SP2 Final.
 
Yeah from what I have seen after about two weeks is not much, No bugs yet and performance has not changed..

I wonder whats improved anyone got some benchies/thoughts? Not updating to a beta version but curious if you get any extra FPS outta the deal.
