Well my 6600 went out so I bought a 7300 GS

I was told that this would be significantly better than my 6600 and so far it seems to only be worse. I'm getting pretty bad framerate in City of Heroes. In Half-Life 2 it seems to get choppy and it places the ammo counter in an obscure place on the screen and only shows 1/3 of one number.

Now did I get ripped off, is the 6600 better than this card?

Oh yeah I downloaded 84.21 Forceware, is there a better one for this card or something?

The 6600 is most certainly better. The person who told you the 7300 was better had no clue what he/she was talking about. Now since it is a cheap card, I would sell it and get a 6800 or a 7600.

They have a 7600 GS, is that ok? Or should I only shoot for the GT. I'd like to save some money as I'm a college student with not much, haha. If the GS is better than my previous 6600 I'm fine with that.

GS is plent good :) You would be able to play most new games on high with that card.

Ok, thanks guys. You've been lots of help. I can return this one for store credit and just throw in a bit more for the 7600.

Well the GS is good but the GT is better for the price.

But then again, a 7800 GT is better then that, and a 7900 GT is better then that, and a 7900 GTX is better then that...:)

But the 7600 GS will be better than let's say a 6600 LE (I think that's what mine was, it had a red sticker on the fan with eVGA in green).

Yes, of course, plenty better.

Ok, so it's better than any version of the 6600 cards wether it's GT, GS, or LE? Because I cannot for the life of me remember what version I have. I'm very sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure. You guys are great. :)

Yes, it is better than any 6600 (LE, regular, GT), it woops 6600's ass, lol.

Ok awesome! :) Thanks for putting up with me and my basic knowledge of computers. I'm a graphic designer, I can't be bothered with all these specs! lol. Anyway, thanks again everyone.

Ok, looks good. Since it has passive cooling, make sure your computer stays fairly cool.

Yeah there's actually big fan about a half inch above my PCI slot that blows air on everything in the computer.

Well I installed the 7600 GS and it works great! I'm getting awesome framerate, a lot better than my old at the max resolution my screen can handle.

So thanks again! :)

As far as I know there isn't a 6700 series card, but then again I heard about the 6150 about 3 months ago, and then there was the 6500 which suddenly came to my knowledge.

Ah, the wonderful yet strange world of GPU's. :P
