What do we know about DX10 cards?

Aside from the fact that they will be the next generation of video cards, what exactly do we know? Will the top of the line cards go from 512MB of memory, to 1GB? Probably not, but you get the idea.

How much of a performance gain are we going to get out of them? I've got a BFG 7800GT, and I'll probably upgrade a few months after the first batch of DX10 cards come out (assuming they're amazing)...

theyre adding a new part to them to allow them to render dx10 graphics better. i guess its one of those pixel pipeline/vertex shader type things, but different. its going to be specialized for the new graphics coming out, but DX9 cards will still do just fine... we'll have to wait for benchmarks for that though won't we?
word has it the new architecture will include what they refer to as a "geometry shader." i dont really know much about that though.
if you want to google it, you could try direct X 10 or geometry shader and im sure you'll find an article or two eventually.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing something about a unified
thing-a-ma-gig on the whats-it about ago. Just couldn't remember what the hell the guy said, nor do I even remotely remember what he was talking about (other than the fact he was talking about DX10 cards).
