i was told the sys requirements on the box are bs. what is needed to run this on good settings. im praying the pc i just ordered will be sufficient. thanks!

dell xps 7100 with black label phenom x6 1035t, HD 5770, 4 gb RAM, 1TB, windows 7 home premium 64 bit. thanks!

That will run FSX quite nicely.
You really cannot fully max out FSX without lag, because some airports are busier than others, but you can put it up fairly high. IF you are roaming the countryside you could try your hand at setting the graphics max, just not the AA.
Also to make it run smoother, buy a FSX addon called "Real Environment Extreme 2.0" (I can't remember if you need to buy 1.0 and it updates or if they are separate). It makes the game look 100% better and runs 100% smoother
