I just got in my antec 900 and Im picy and would like my psu to be black but it has a fan and other creases so Im just wondering if paint will hurt it and If i should take the case of it

I'm not to sure really, if you paint it then it will probably heat up more and if paint get's to any of the eletrical's inside the PSU it could do some damage i dont really advise you on trying it but do it at your own risk and use a small paint brush if you were going to try it so it's easier to control were your painting. Hope i was a help!

you should be able to take the lid off it and spray that but it will void your warranty and PSU's have powerful capacitors inside them and trust me you dont want a kick off one, touch one by the wrong part of your body and it can kill you.
can you not just get a black PSU? it would make your life a lot easier.

So everyone thinks you shouldnt paint the PSU trust me dont buy a black one to be honest.

No...no, no, no. It's going to be a PAIN to seal everything off right. If it were me and I were so inclined, I would remove the casing on it, which is very easy and perfectly safe if you know what you're doing, and then paint that. Or, if it was a standard ATX size, I would get an aftermarket plexi casing.

Carter, this is one of those mod projects where, if you have to ask how to do it, you're not prepared to do it.

What I would do in your position, is head over to mnpctech.com and order up a sheet of vinyl stick-on, and use that to cover the top, bottom and sides. Cut a hole for the fan opening (if there is one), and you are finished. Watch their tutorials on the subject. The vinyl can also occasionally be found at auto parts stores and arts and crafts places (but probably not the cool patterns).

I'm using that material right now to dress up the side panels on my girlfriend's rig...and my mouse...and my speakers...and my front bay devices...
