I'm looking at the 7900GT( $395.75CA) for my new build!

But then I realized that furetureshop is selling a x850xtPE for $300!!!

So my question is should I go with the x850xtPE and use the left over money to upgrade to a x2 4200 or should i stick with the 7900GT, will I notice a huge diffirence in performance? and also since x850xtPE is older technology how many more years will it last me?

~thx

Which companie do u recommand buying from? like XFX....?

Asus, MSI, eVGA, ChainTech, Diamond, and some others all use the same chip provided by NVidia. Different cards do seem to perform better on certain boards however. The ATI Radeon line also has easy to access support for the newer model cards. The drawback with ATI however is the Catalyst support doesn't distinguish between different model cards. After a certain point the continuing updates will not work on discontinued miodels.

are you kidding

7900 gt

and as for the company

evga a little more money for a lot more quality

That may be a step down but not anywhere as costly especially if on a tight budget and high end performance isn't the only thing being looked at. The 7900 series cards are simply the latest thrill along with the X1900 models by ATI. In six months you may see a 8200 GT that passes everyone. By that time the prices will have fallen on the 7900 GT.
