Why do they make them different?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "different". If you mean like more content or better graphics it's because computers can handle it and consoles are unable to.

I believe he means why the gameplay is different, and/or whey there are different missions or levels.

well like im taking this from fifa 2008, the xbox and ps3 version is awesome, but the computer version sucks its almost a completely different game. That was bothering me cause i bought fifa 08 cause i thought it would be awesome but it turned out to suck

even fifa too? EA did the same with NBA Live 08. the 360/ps3 version are awesome. pc got the crap one. it looked like ps2 graphics. i'm adding mods to it to make it look like the 360 version although it aint perfect, its better than what i started with.

Can someone tell me this, why can computer multiplayer games support 64 players but console games (Xbox Live for example) can only handle 16 players? I still play Halo 3 online with my friend but at times I am frustrated because the biggest teams you can have are 8v8.

It's because most 360 games, XBL games, use a peer to peer online standard. No dedicated servers like you have on PC games. It's the developers being cheap.

Not all though! Insomniac's Resistance: Fall of Man for the PS3 had dedicated server support, and was able to host 40 player games.

Dedicated servers for consoles would require extra development on both ends. While it's far from impossible, enough effort went into developing these consoles in the first place.

Online multiplayer is one of the next steps in the evolution of console video games, I think they should develop these games to run on servers.

PC gamers don't like being on rails as mich as console gamers so for Gears Of War the developers added more route choices. PCs have far more ram so they can add more content.
