wifi internet legalities

My internet situation is rather unique. [i[]all[/i] of my neighbors have verizon, but its not available to us and there are literally no decent service providers.

so i am stuck with 56k.

My grandparents live next door though and they have verizon dsl. I would love it if i could buy them a wireless router and share the connection, but they are the upright christian type and would not share the connection unless i could convince them its legal.

i've googled it but nowhere can i find out if its legal or not to share your connection, or if it matters if youre sharing it with family etc.

so please, share your knowledge.

if you to agree, idont see a problem with it, though im not completely sure about internet providers

Verizon does not permit customers to share their internet connection outside of ther home. It is a violation of the terms contract, which would result in you losing your service, and a possible lawsuit.

how would verizon not be available to you if you live next door to them? correct me if im wrong, but dont the providers cover a certain area.. not house to house? unless you guys are not using verizon as your phone company? but i thought this was the same too. have you tried looking for other providers in your area?

Well of course they are available, just not for free. ;)

dude for the like 5 dollars a month difference between dialup and dsl just pay the 5 bucks and get dsl you wont regret it and not only is it illegal to share it like that but you would never get a good signal through the walls of 2 houses even with boosters just get your own dsl man its a good investment and well worth your time and money
