1. THANK YOU for listing the actual parts rather than stupid links to a website that takes 3 years, 2 months, 5 days and 22 minutes to load :p

2. Some considerations:
- Get a new HSF, AL doesnt cut it for modern CPUs anymore: (LOUD) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-038&depa=1 (QUIET) http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=35-106-044&depa=1
- A new optical drive would definitely be STRONGLY suggested, for $2 more adn a crapload of performance: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-106-197&depa=1
- I'd suggest you drop the memory down a notch to the ValueSelect CAS2 and up the video card to at least the GFX5900XT (its only $170USD ish)

3. What's your budget? :)

CORE
Western Digital 160GB 7200 8MB - $120USD
Chenming601AE+450W Enermax - $75USD
Thermaltake SilentBoost/ExtremeVolcano12 - $45USD
Corsair ValueSelect PC3200 2x256MB - $130USD
LiteOn 52x32x52 or LG CDRW/DVD ComboDrive - $30USD
GFX5900XT 128MB - $170USD
MSI K8T NEOFSR - $85
AMD Athlon64 Newcastle754 - $210
-- Core Cost - $865USD

Which is a damn nice setup for that price. A few comments:
1. LCDs are crap IMO -- bias aside, the LCD you picked out is crap (25ms response time is 4 year old technology). Get a 17" or 19" good CRT
2. You can prune the HDD down if you need to cut some money out (or even the CPU)
3. Then again it's probably better to prune the LCD (for sure), the HDD (maybe) and ramp the memory

I use just maxtors myself but because im poor and back when i bought them, they were the cheapest drives available. Nothing wrong with Maxtor drives as a performance option although Western Digital has taken over as the 'premium' brand

As for the cdburner... whats wrong with the Litey? Shouldnt have to wait for that.

I got this board about a month ago. For the most part I'm happy with the feature set (especially Cool n' Quiet support), stability, and memory compatibility. My one gripe is the incorrect temperature reporting (apparently just with newcastle CPUs). My (non-OC'ed) 3200+ processor usually reads lower 60's C, and the case reads lower 50's. The latest bios was supposedly going to fix this, but it hasn't. This is a little more of a problem than you might think, since it causes the CPU fan to run at high speed. It makes the effort I put in to building a quiet system wasted. Hopefully soon MSI will come out with a BIOS that fixes this problem (currently I'm running version 1.8).

Cheers!

I just read this review with the motherboard you suggested so.... Whats Happening? What SHould I DO?

You can spend the extra $10 and get a ASUS A8V although ive not had a problem with any of the NEO-FIR, A8V or AV8. Course I (a) check the temps manually and from multiple sources (b) dont want/care/need a quiet system, the louder the better (c) see that its just one review as opposed to the common sentiment :)
