good deal, a pm or turon or even a mobile athlon would be better, but that works, a dell I9300 would kill it in graphics, so u might wanna check that out with the $750 of or 35-40% off cuopons
 
that vid card may be a bit weak...but it depends on what type of games u will be playing. and the athlon processor is the better option for a gaming computer, but ijm not sure dell can put a athlon in for you, i think they are strictly intel. but otherwise, nice comp.
 
Yeah nice comp. Now how long does it take you to get the Dell compuns becasue ive applied to get some, but i was just wondering how long it takes to recieve them. Thanks

decent for mild to light gaming. basically a mobile 9600 with a pci interface.
 
Why is this a mild gaming machine? Is it becasue he has a not so desent video card? But if it is the video card could he get the video card updraded to a better one and could the processot still handle that size of video card?

So with a Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 630 w/HT Technology, 3.0GHz or AMD 62 processor 4000, can you still upgrage teh video card either to a ATI that suports 256 mb of video?

the processor has nothing to do with upgradability. it depends on the motherboard used by the manufacture.
 
Ah ok. I see. Well is HP or COmpaq a company you can rely on for being good?im really sorry for asking. i jsut want to learn more aobut computers and you guys are helping me learn.
 
laptops arent made for gaming... only get one of u REALY need a laptop.

but the laptop u have there should run BF2 well (not the best settings though ofcourse)
 
Well. Im a junior in high school. And i;m goign to collge soon so i want a laptop so i can use it thee. i dont want to waste alot of money buying a desktop than buying a laptop. I just want to buy one. But ok ill start to read Building 101. Thanks.
 
LOL. Well true i guess. But i also would have gotten a desktop than a laptop but i have to pay more my car. So thats the problem.
 
this is quite good and will play any game you throw at it just fine. battery life could be a problem though id go for a pentium m
