My situation:
ive got a computer configured to do the same stuff as a router. This is windows xp home. i personally never knew this. But through the internet connection wizard you can set up a dhcp and dns server on it. At least the dhcp as far as i know because i only use a switch in between my windows xp home computer and my own laptop (windows xp prof). Because when i hook up my laptop it automatically receives and ip and in the configuration it says it was assigned by dhcp.
My problem:
i think the dhcp server isn't releasing the ip's my laptop has used. So after a while it has used the entire 192.168.0.XXX range and my laptop won't receive a ip anymore because they're all used. And so i have to reinstall windows xp home every time it does this. Very very irritating. Anyone got any suggestions for fixing this?
