Windows Explorer problem

Hi Folks,

The "New" menu option has disappeared form the "File" menu in Windows Explorer (and My Computer).
So now I cannot create a new folder on my C drive.
It is also missing from the menu when I right-click.
I'm running Windows ME.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Whoa... have you installed any wacky programs as of late? Run a virus/spyware scan? If not, thats a serious flaw in the (already unstable) OS -- consider reinstalling?

I haven't been running any funky programs and according to Norton and SpyBot I'm clean.
Could I re-install ME over the existing installation?

You could but that wouldnt help much i dont think; you're best off reformatting as well

Hi again,

I've downloaded an alternative to Windows Explorer from www.freesoftlabs.com.
It works fine and, in my case at least, is a better alternative to reformatting and re-installing ME.
