Wireless network card

When I purchased my laptop, installed already was a wireless network card (at least I believe thats what it's called), that allows my laptop to connect with an internet router. All of a sudden it is no longer recieving a connection, from my router or anyone elses (it would pick up my neighbours). The router appears to be working and the internet itself is working. Is there any way to go into my laptop and find out if the card is picking up a signal?
Thanks

oh yeah. It's an acer aspire 3630

My be a dumb question, by my laptop actually has a button on the outside of the case (by the USB ports..) that can turn the card on and off. Otherwise, goto START->Connect to-> Show all Connections and there should be a Wireless Connections. Right Click that, and click Enable if it's there.

Also check and see that its not disabled in the connections menu while your in there and if it isnt, try to go into the device manager and look to see its not got a ? by it and its recognized by windows.

My laptop has the same button. It's not that it won't connect to the internet... it used to do that just fine. Right now though it's not reading any signal. I can press the button but when I bring up available connections it says that none exist. I just gotta find some way to know for sure that it's the card so I can contact Acer.
