Witcher Help

I bought the Witcher tonight and I started the installation. When I click play game an error pops up telling me that I need to be the administrator to play this the first time. However, I am on my admin profile. Is this an issue because it is windows xp and vista instead of windows 7?
 
Update I think I need to download the new 1.5 update for the game however, when getting the patch it is moving extremely slow. It says I have two hours until it opens. Is this a security problem on the computer?
 
Still having problems, I might have to take it back tomorrow if it continues not to work.

EDIT: After trying to download patch an error eventually appears saying >SetupNew/Setup.ccp(135) PAPP; PVENDOR: PGUID $ @Vista
