World of Warcraft FPS

I'm looking to learn a little more about my computer.

Please view this screenshot - I think it has all the information needed. Ask if you need anything else

In that screenshot, my FPS is 33, everything is on highest settings, yet my GPU load is only 59%, RAM 35%, and CPU 40% usage. If you look at the tempuratures in HW Monitor, my CPU is at 35c and my GPU is at 47c - My computer isn't over heating, and it doesn't sound stressed with the fans or anything.

I want to know what are all the possible things that could prevent my computer from running at 60fps - If my hardware isn't even being fully utilized, why do I get 25-45FPS and not more?

Resolution is 1920x1080 - HP 2710m
MSI GTX 460 1GB (811, 975, 1622)
G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 8GB 1333
AMD AthlonII x4 640 @3ghz
600watt PSU
7200rpm HDD

does wow constantly run at 33fps, or is it 33fps in certain areas? in the busiest areas like stormwind and org even an amazing PC will slow down a bit

33 FPS isn't too bad, is that an average FPS or a maximum or minimum FPS?

Turn down your resolution a bit. 1920x1080 is a pretty high resolution for the GTX 460, though it should cope OK with it. If you turn down the resolution, your GPU won't have as many pixels to render, meaning the game should run at a faster FPS. See if 1680x1050 will do for you. What other settings are you running the game at? Could also try knocking down your AA (anti-aliasing) if you can. At the moment you're probably at like 8x AA, try 4x and see if it's any better for you. Let us know if you see any FPS increase. :)

The 33fps was just at that time. It can go down to 17fps if there's tons of people in the trade district. My FPS is usually around 40 in battlegrounds or arenas. questing in random zones can be anywhere from 30-60

My main question is I'm wondering what determines my frame rate to be under 60fps if GPU load is only 59%, RAM 35%, and CPU 40% usage - Network and Disk said 0% so I don't think it was load on that. Shouldn't my computer be working at 100% to give highest FPS possible?

run wow, then alt tab and go into task manager, goto processes and right click on wow.exe try setting priority to high and make sure the affinity is set to all cores

Thank you for that tip. Just set priority to high, so not sure how big of a difference it'll make, but it can't hurt. I'll be playing all day and I will edit if I notice a noticeable improvement
