Wouldn't you know it?

I just bought NFS:Carbon and well the pic is pretty self explanatory. Vista issues? I get past the EA logo splash screen and then it crashes to desktop. I would defer anything with overheating....

Thanks

Well the patch doesn't work....GREAT!!

I tried running in Compatibility mode for XP SP2 and it says insert the correct DVD-ROM, and this is b/c XP doesn't natively support SATA optical drives.

Nothing... it just works lol. Strange though i don't see why it wouldn't work

don't feel bad i paid $40 for DiRT and it don't support shader model 2 :) ill just have it for when i upgrade to a 8800 :(

NFS games have a tendancy to mess up during installation and during uninstallation.

google it and you can find the answer, To uninstall mine I had to use renegit or wtv it's called to get into the registry and find it.

I have high-end stuff and Carbon won't work, this is retarded, EA has provided horrible support for it... Now programs don't recognize my SATA drives.... What else? Just bring it on..... I knew I should've went IDE....

Thx

I think you mean your BIOS does not have native support for SATA optical drives. I don't think the OS cares because the installer pulls that info from the BIOS, and if it boots from the CD then there is native support.

Or could you post a link that would prove this to be true? Now not all SATA controllers will have native support so you would have to slipstream them in or load them separately from a floppy.

Vista recognizes.... BIOS is the latest on a P35 board, you would think so....

Your not missing anything, Graphics are awsome. Online play and physics suck IMO. For online play you can't even pick a server it picks for you

But still i don't understand why it don't work..

Oh and i can't get it to keep the AA settings, at 800x600 it will set to 2x not 4, at 1024x768 it will change it back to "off" .... i don't think ill ever buy another EA game, they cut the servers off for NFS U2 without warning right after i bout it

EA had for sure as crap not do this to Crysis.... They will get their budget's throat cut.... I am not even joking, NFS:C wasn't that popular of a game. If Crysis pulls this crap, then EA is gonna be selling some stock. Hopefully they don't have any complete retards writing the code for Crysis, whoever wrote this needs their head examined. I can't stand spending $1800+ on a PC for this purpose and someone else's garbage screws me over, I get so aggravated at stuff like this. How about these DVD drives now? I can't get MagicISO to recognize that there is a DVD present....

Thx guys

I know, i plan on getting crysis one of these days! try powerISO?

MagicISO is better... TDU recognizes the drive.... WTF!?

EDIT: Now MagicISO recognizes and I am making an ISO for a virt drive to see if that works.... This is bad when a guy has to sit around for an hour trying to figure how to make it work and then play for 30 minutes.....

Okay, updated it to 1.4 which is SUPPOSED to fix Vista issues, NOT!! I have it mounted on a Virtual Drive, it crashes back to desktop.. I have done a MS Update that fixes a few things like this, didn't help either. So, I am just gonna return this and wait on NFS: Pro Street, maybe that will work, then again I dunno:rolleyes:

Thx for help
