Anyone know how many World of Warcraft players there are currently?
I am not sure if the 8.5 million subscribers are people who logged on the last 2 months or so(which would be more accurate of how many players there are), or the persons who subscribed and ended subscription is still counted in the 8.5 million.

Its the number of subscribers but thats world wide. European servers are seperate from US, and the Asian servers are seperate from the rest of the people. The only ones that aren't seperated to my knowledge are the Austrailian/Oceanic servers, US people can play with them. But I'd say your populations are heaviest in the Asian areas...MMO's are amazingly popular over there (15 or so people have died from playing MMO's in the Koreas).

Mmm, yeah there are a lot of people there who play PC games for a very long time, I guess it's in their culture or something.

Hehe, I saw a documentary on MMO's on the Discovery Times channel. And they had a segment on the Koreans and how seriously they take those games. They stated that the people that actually died believed themselves to be actually in the game. How that could happen is beyond me, but whatever
