Wow, I have never seen that before. I have the Hitachi, it is very loud.
 
I thought it wasnt too bad either (having the hitachi one btw, not the samsung :x ) you could hear it a bit, but not too bad. untill it died that is
 
and people ask why i never bother getting a xbox :rolleyes: :D yeah good luck. i feel bad that m$ has all theis problems but it is also you would think they should of tested it a bit more then it looks like they did
 
well, I went there and they first told me I should call Microsoft, and they would send a mailing service to get the xbox, so they could repair it. "and then I dont have it for weeks?" I asked. "yes, but thats how it usually goes"
a pretty sad face and telling that I bought the xbox to play halo 3 wich is released here in 2 days must have done the trick.. because after I stood there for 5 seconds he called his boss, and asked if he could replace it. the guy on the phone said he could if he had one in stock. (they had 2 in stock there, so I got a new console :) )

its one with the Hitachi drive (unfortunately) but well, if it doesnt break, i'm happy :)
 
Wait a second. You got one today and it still uses the Hitachi drive they were using at launch? I thought Microsoft said that they were constantly updating their hardware?
 
They were probably just sitting on it forever... It's not at all that far-fetched, I find stuff at work some days that have a date of 1998 or earlier!!! The plastic packaging is all yellow and brittle...
