I'm trying to connect a xbox 360 without a wireless connection to my desktop by an Ethernet wire, but my desktop is using a wireless connection. The router is too far away to have an Ethernet cord to connect to it.

help please.

buy an xbox 360 wireless reciever

Unlike some people, cough, not every one has 70 bucks to go towards a stupid wireless adapter when he already has a cable.

As for the problem at hand, you will need to click the wireless icon on the bottom right hand side of your screen. Then click properties. Advanced, then click "allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection, and click "local area connection". Your 360 should be then able to connect. If not, post back.

your not even trying to solve the right problem. he said that the router is too far away for the ethernet cable to reach. which is why i suggested the wireless option
