Xbox Live through ICS. NAT problem

So here is my problem, my router is in the basement so there is no way I can connect my Xbox directly through ethernet. My only choice would be to set up ICS from my PC (which is wirelessly connected to the router) to the Xbox. That worked flawlessly and I was connected to Xbox Live just fine. But the Xbox Live Connection test shows that I have a Strict NAT, resulting in connection loss, can't join a single game, losing connection to host after a while etc... So I'm wondering if there is a way to fix this Strict NAT problem so I can at least enjoy Xbox Live again.

And i've searched the internet, but I haven't yet found anybody with the same problem as me because i'm trying to fix a NAT problem while connected to my PC which is connected wirelessly to the router.

Thanks,
Hadi

go into your router control panel, and select the MAC address of the xbox to be in a DMZ, which will bypass your NAT settings. Every router is different so you may need to google how to set up DMZ on your router. Just make sure your Xbox is set to DMZ.

Alright, i'm familiar with DMZ and my router has it under the firewall tab. Currently, i have set DMZ for my Mac. So, for the ip address do i put the ip address of the PC or xbox? It doesnt give me a choice for MAC address. Again, the xbox is connected to my PC which connects to the router.

thanks

I would wire your XBOX in or get a wifi adapter to set DMZ, otherwise you must set your PC that it is sharing to DMZ, and well you don't want to put a windows box in a demilitarized zone, unless you want problems.

i see what your saying. hmmm tough call. I'm gonna try to see if enabling DMZ on the windows box solves it. either way, I might just have to cash in 100 bucks for the 360 wifi adapter. thanks a lot for your help.

you can use any ethernet to wifi bridge device, you don't have to buy the official 360 wifi adapter. I think I have seen them online as cheap as 50ish dollars.
