ok, from what has been said above, a little advicce.
1. consider steering clear of dell, they have the worst customer support on the planet. However, should you know how to fix the majority of hardware/softare issues on your own, they are very good systems for very good prices.
2. steer clear of alienware and apple. they may look awesome, but you are paying about 150% of the actual price that you can get the same system for elsewhere, just because of the name "alienware" or "apple". neither are all they are cracked up to be.
also, whoever said about apple is a little silly and didnt read that you wanted to use vista 7 ^^
go to either:
www.newegg.com
or
www.ibuypower.com
they sell performance notebooks within your price range, all of the ones around your price range will be good for the price and more than capable of what you want them for.
I dont know what the sony fx series is like, look up sony fx review and then look through some of em.
I cant really offer you any kind of system that would be good because you seem very interested in the looks of it, but with that price so long as you stick to places that are generally very good value for money, you will get just that with the look you want
