What do you mean by best for others?
Best for gaming, you're looking at the Intel 6700k for now.
Best for encoding, rendering, and anything that uses a bunch of cores would be the Intel 6950x.
MOAR CORESYou should totally get a 6950X, you WONT be disappointed!
Well... he MIGHT... just MIGHT be disappointed at the cost of that thing. Just might.
Damn right! Suck it AMD!
Sorry @Darren
That number is going to grow until we see those Zen releases. LOL!Exhibit # 23406 of Darren being used as an AMD punching bag for some reason. Move along.

Facedesk. Also, he was being sarcastic. Why not a dual Xeon solution?
Yea... in power consumption. That's pretty much it. The 6950x blows the E5-2670 in dual socket configuration in a bunch of tests. Why not a dual Xeon solution? It blows the 6950x out of the water...
Well other tests say otherwiseYea... in power consumption. That's pretty much it. The 6950x blows the E5-2670 in dual socket configuration in a bunch of tests.

Think more along the lines of $7000 ea. for the E5-4669 v4.Let's just spend $3k on a pair of Xeon processors because you know, every middle aged person has that much money to blow on a gaming rig...
