I've got a floppy drive, but don't keep it in my pc, i use my usb pen drive for transferring files, the only time i have found a floppy useful is for SATA drivers when installing drivers, and updating the BIOS

i have to have one when installling XP...have to press F6 to install ahci drivers also required for raid, and its still useful when i want to wipe the drive

hopefully vista will allow that stuff to be read from other media

Yep, there's my computer, as it has sat for the past couple months. Turns out my floppy drive isn't even connected, I just thought it was. Cables kinda go every where...I plugged everything back in and never got around to tidying or putting the case cover back on after the last time I had to replace something. Only thing that pisses me off is I don't ahve my front usb headers hooked up....and I need them...

Helloooo cable management. :)

I use mine quite often actually, cause I can't get my flash drive to work with my win98 computer.

I've spray painted an old white floppy drive (from a 1997 computer) black to match my computer case. As you can see it's shiner than the rest of my case though. (pictures link in my sig.)

Haven't had one in my computers for years. I don't think I personally have actually used one or had a need to use one for a good year or so either :\... Since I got myself a USB pen drive it kind of defeated the need for one, although before I even got that I never had a floppy drive.

=)

I have everything on a network, otherwise I used CD's and DVDs. I have about well WAY too many CD spindles sitting around. They're disposable to me. As well as DVD's which I do use quite a bit as now my camera is using a 1gb stick and I share the photo's a lot. I recently transfered 785mgs through AIM which only took an hour. Not bad. Beat THAT Mr. Floppy drive. :p
