|Linux is sometimes buggy so bugs but its fine for me i only use it for internet and Movies/Music but, I had Windows Vista Installed on my |Laptop, i couldn't play my games on Vista because of the FPS so I installed XP .. Get Linux for Internet but dont get it for Programs because you will have a tough time learning how to install programs and how to compile them. Basically Linux Goof for Internet Windows XP not. |Linux good for games no. |Windows XP| yes. Sorry if this does not make sense, Still learning English.
No offense, no flaming, but you're wrong. Some Linux distros are buggy because they are still in development. There are many different stable versions of linux distros. Many distros are even designed for beginners. It is not at all difficult to install new programs with linux; it's called synaptic packet manager (in most cases) and has a very user friendly graphical interface in where you search for what you want to install. You can do anything with linux that you can do with windows except serious gaming. I say serious gaming because there is a way to play many games in linux (ie BF2142, HL2, etc) but it costs money. To me part of the deal with switching linux is that it's free. Hope this helps.
wrong again, but in a sense you are right, compiling on linux is a must-know, not all software comes via synaptic , some just need that install script etc|Get Linux for Internet but dont get it for Programs because you will have a tough time learning how to install programs and how to compile them.

BluePlum, what do you mean unreal? ubuntu have its own style, windows have its own and vista too have a different style on GUI.

OMG, never menyou can definitely do the job faster on a linux machine than a win machine.
yeah Mac is way cool, friendly and extremely easyif you just want to try a more safe or stable os,i think mac os is the better choice, not linux. linux will take you a long time to get used to, and even longer to work fast with it.
