about my cdrom

ive got a lightscribe dvd burner that use to work greatr but the last month it started not opening unless i hit the top of my computer to move the drive down, which worked great but now it wont even read discs at all.....
i am not too concerned about fixing but i was wondering what the best dvd/cd romw as for a computer i dont need lightscribe...
any help would be appreciated

ya i know its not too terrible safe hiting it but the front of the cdrom doesnt come of so i cant fix it, LGs are good is there any special burners or should i just look for one that can use all formats of dvds

I always liked Liteon drives. Samsung makes a good one as well.

I know LG drives are popular, but I had one bad experience with LG and I stay away from anything they make now.

Thats wild because I have the same problem with Liteon, have about 6 with broke door belts or just wont read anymore:D But Samsung does make good drives too.
