Any issues with upgrading a laptop CPU?

I have an old Lenovo Y410. I think it has a 1.66 GHz Core 2 Duo right now. I'm thinking I can spruce it up rather affordably with an SSD and a faster cpu, specifically the Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8Ghz.

I'm not looking for guarantees or anything, just wondering if you think there's a solid chance as long as I match up the right socket that it will take the faster CPU? Thanks.

Not sure about the specifics but I once suped up my laptop with a faster CPU. A Celeron 1.6gHz single core to a Centrino Duo 1.86 gHz. Works great. The only issue I had was I had to update all of my chipset drivers and video drivers, so be sure to do this first or it might not boot up after swapping out chips.

I would do the SSD first... might not be worth all the trouble to swap out the CPU most probably cheaper to just buy a new laptop at that point.

SSD should make a significant difference!
