Anyone havew a netbook -Questions

I was looking at mini netbooks and decided to buy one that is 10 inch because the 8 and 9's are very hard for me to read text. Yes I know the screen can be magnified, but I don't want to have to do that. The 10 inch looks decent especially when writing.

My question is......which one has the best looking screen, not by specs but actual viewing experience, especially in bright daylight.

Most of them I believe are 1024 x 600. What 10 inch would you say is spectular or Wooooooooooooooooow. Maybe not all 1024 x 600 are the same in color, contrast, and sharpness. On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the highest and a 10 Plus off the woooooooooooow chart.

Thank you for any help.

You're talking about a Budget Laptop.

There is no woooooooooooooow factor.

Have you Googled any models that you know of and read any reviews?
Might be a good place to start.

The Acer Aspire One's I've seen only have a 3-cell battery and would only last 1.5-2.5 hours, it's the 6-cell ones such as those in the Asus Eee PC that last 5-6 hours.

I have a 10" Eee PC and it's decent, it's by no means a replacement for a laptop but a good addition if you want to use it for watching movies, basic web browsing, etc.

Acer One also has 6 cell option:
Power

* 30-watt AC adapter

Lithium ion batteries:
- Six-cell - up to 6.5 hours life with hard drive depending on configuration and usage
or
- Three-cell - up to 3.0 hours life depending on configuration and usage

I have an MSI Wind U120 and it's pretty mint. It has 1 gig of ram (not upgradeable) and a 160gig hdd w/ webcam and a microphone. It also has the 10' inch display @ 1024 x 768. I wouldn't recommend it for anything but internet browsing, photo viewing, word documents, etc. Make sure you know the limitations before you purchase one. Overall they are nice little machines.

True. Sounds to me like they're all pretty much equally equipped.

I know the Dell mini's have different kinds of displays. The newer
one, the Mini 12 I think, has an OLED display that's better for longer
battery life I think. Please don't quote me, as I could be wrong.

No no no... The Mini12 most definitely does not have an OLED display. They are LED backlit. OLED is something completely different.

Most decent netbooks have LED lit displays now.

Aspire one's have the glossy screen, so it's gonna be terrible outdoors.

Gahh. I said don't quote me! lol

The new Dell Mini, not sure which one, has a different, more energy
efficient display.

Not sure what kind. Like Florescent? Idk, my buddy was telling me about
them. I just can't remember exactly what the spec was.

You may want to re-read my post which you refer to above... You will notice that I mentioned that they are LED backlit.

The more energy draining (less efficient) backlights are the florescent kind. CCFL - Cold Cathode Fluorescent to be precise. ;)
