Personally i like the red plastic. BUT i think it covers up too much of the card especially on the 4870's. I think you would find they would look quite similar and equally as tough if they only covered up a little like on that 9800 Archangel posted.

As far as buying a card for how it looks....thats just stupid.

i dont see what the big deal about the hsf's plastic is anyways. i mean, i havent seen my 8800's sexy hsf since i put it in, it's upside down! thats why i prefer pcb color over hsf, red pcb looks way better in a case then green, because my old X800GTO looked fiiiiine

To be honest... I don't really think that looks are a big factor to me for a component which goes inside the computer. You don't choose a motherboard because it's, say, green instead of blue, do you?

Either way, it all comes down to performance.

And for the record, Nvidia has had it's share of terrible looking cards as well. I don't know about you, but I think that this card looks absolutely awful.
