back up of sql database

i have massive amounts of data that needs to be backed up daily, were talking like 9000 lines of data everyday, anybody know of a simple way to do this. i tried using access and it worked but when i did it for day 2 it would just add to my already 9000 lines so i would have 18000 lines now and then continue on and on, is there a way to truncate that? or any other ideas you may have will be very helpful
