Battlefield 2 problems

I can't get the game to launch. installed, patched to 1.41, then to 1.50, and when i launch it the screen goes black and then returns to the desktop without any error messages.

mine wont even let me uppload patch 1.41 without it saying "Patch did not install correctly"
