Well i've been away for a couple of years from building, so i'm looking to buy new parts, while still keeping PSU, video card, HDD's and maybe case (willing to considerate changing).

My budget for the pieces i need would be somewhat around $ 450 tops, and the things i would need are:

Motherboard
Memory
Case (optional)
and some good cpu cooler to work on a I5 2500 (not the k model)

Gigabyte Ud3h, or if you need the extra features, the ud5h (z77)G Skill Ripjaws 2x8
Hyper 212+
What's your gpu?
Case, anything you like by Corsair, NZXT or Bitfenix, a few antecs, and most cooler masters.

my gpu is a gtx 570, will do for now, will upgrade in 6 months after the parts i really need.

Edit:
read some of the reviews on both boards you suggested, they seem most scariest

The stock fan you'll get with a 2500 is fine as long as you're not overclocking (which you can't really do anyway) and you're not keeping your CPU in a hot box with no ventilation.

This board would be a solid choice.

This RAM would be good as well

Case is really up to you in terms of appearance and how much you want to spend. You'll need a mid tower or full tower. Just look at reviews and that will tell you the most. Youtube reviews for cases are also beneficial since they can show you what pictures can't.

thing is i got the processor off "black market" in other words someone else gave it to me without the fan, so i would need an after market one.'

did some searching in newegg and here's what i've come up, little over budget but oh well

The RAM I linked is cheaper and identical except for appearance, but that's up to you. CPU cooler is way too expensive for a non overclocked CPU. A 212 is way overkill but still a good choice. That cooler is for overclocking, which you can't do so there's no point in spending the money on it.

Check out the TX3.

i could overclock the 2500, just not a shitload

Yeah I know you can squeeze a few hundred mHZ out of it, but still, that is way overkill and you'll be wasting your money. 212 or TX3 would be both good choices. 212 is still one of the top choices of many CPU overclockers that aren't trying to break records.

Yes. Worth it? Probably not. But yes performance is better.

No, go with the UD3H, much much better choice.

How is it any better if he's getting a non overclocking (very much) CPU, a few sticks of 1600 RAM (supported by board I selected), and only one video card. No performance is to be gained. Only features that he will probably never use.

To chupacabra, if you'll use the features of the board Byte suggested, then go for it, but it's unlikely you will truly need all that it has. Also one you selected is fine, but ask yourself if you're really going to use the features and if they're worth the price hike. If they are, go for it, but if not, might as well save your money for a better video card down the road if you plan to upgrade that.
