bios reset?

i no you can reset the bios on a motherboard by moving a jumper but does anyone know how to on a laptop? some student set a password and now we cant get into the computer

Does removing the bios battery not reset the password, also what make and model, could be useful!!

In some laptops the CMOS powering battery is soldered to the motherboard.But I would refrain from opening the laptop.There are a few ways still to reset the password like

using the backdoor password different for every manufacturer of the cmos and changed frequently google your model and check it out.
or you can use the bios password recovery software !BIOS
or cmospwd
