Burner or player?

Would it be recommended to buy a DVD-rom player to play DVDs on my PC, or should I just spend a couple extra bucks and get a newer burner and play DVDs on it?

I would spend the extra money on a burner just incase you want to burn a dvd someday.

i have two burners, i find that the read-only drives are a lot more sloppy, and favor read speed vs. error correction

not important for simply watching a movie, or playing a game, but it's very good to have for disc-to-disc copies, since a burner will often times do a much better job of catching errors, and doing a much more accurate read.

Yea, I just found a decent reader for $18, but I came across a decent burner for $30. I think I'll buy the burner and use my old burner as a reader.
