can i upgrade to intel core i7

i was wondering i can take a laptop with an intel core i3 and easily upgrade it to i7. also is this possible to do on other cpus? are there any compatabuility issues?

With laptops, you are basically stuck with what you got. You would need increased cooling and whatnot anyway. Laptops aren't as upgradeable as desktops are.

What's wrong with the i3? Why do you want to upgrade?

Probably not due to a few things:

CPU might be soldered onto the mainboard
Laptop probably has an inadequate cooling solution
Laptop BIOS might not support the i7 if no other laptop in that series has an i7 CPU
