can something be causing low fps?

I have a new Dell XPS 8300. Running an i7 3.4 ghz, 6 gigs of ram, 1 terabyte 5,400 rpm drive. I upgraded the graphics card to a 5850 with 1 gig ddr5 ram, plus I squished in a new power supply (700W). I was expecting a nice increase in FPS in SecondLife compared with the 5670 that came with the computer. There is some noticeable difference, but nothing huge, still getting similar FPS around 20 - 25 fps. Could there be something that is slowing this card down? This is all running on windows 7 home premium. Latest drivers for the graphics card, I checked that.

not sure, but defenitly you need new HD as the one you've is just too slow, might want to get cheap SSD or good raptor to boost performance.
