Cannot open ADD/Remove

Hi need another advice and suggestion or solutions about add/removed program because I download only Google desktop toolbar but when it was finished I did checked or open the ADD/REMOVED just to check it it said :

Error loading c:\window\system32 \shell32.dll access is denied.

Any solutions??


Using Window Xp media / Dell 5150/3 Gb ram/160 Gb hard drive

That's likely the culprit. I would uninstall that via the uninstall option in its folder on the Start menu, and install something else. I prefer AVG Free Edition, but I've heard good things about Microsoft Security Essentials as well. Avira AntiVir and Avast! are two more options. Please install one of these programs to help keep you virus free.

You have a major security issue on your system though, you are running a very outdated version of java which has vulnerabilities. Please go into add/remove programs and uninstall all instances of java, they can be labeled as java or J2SE runtime. When done installing, please go here to download the latest version.

Sorry for my ignorance, can you explain it to me what's Java , does it affect the computer ? What's the latest Java ? How it function? before I will download last time I download something about Java I got a lot of virus in computer I have to be cautious about before downloading.


Oh deanj20, I did download the Avira as my antivirus changed the commodo. Thanks again.

The version of java you are running is old and malware can use that to enter your system. Java allows certain websites to run properly. I highly suggest you uninstall any versions you have installed and then download the latest version. I will not have you download anything that will harm your system. I'm actually here to prevent you from harming your system. There is no harm in downloading the latest java in the link I gave you.
