CCC acting really weird?

ok so i just bought an HD 4850 (XFX) and just installed the latest catalyst app from the ATI website.. when i go to over drive and open up auto-tune i get this weird error:
"atig6txx.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error... etc"

afterwards it sends me to a multi colored screen.. its still imaged so i don't know if its supposed to move or not (first ATI card ) anyways i looked on google and appearently im the only one with the problem, any ideas?

the drivers are correct, i just uninstalled and re-installed... nothing same error... i must say that my rig is a core 17 920, 500gb hdd, 2gb of ram, and the x58 extreme by ASrock

weird way to fix but i went into system 32 and deleted the stupid file... on its properties it had said something about an amd 64 patch, but since i deleted it, i don't get error and games play just fine... weird.. i would have stayed with nvidia but who wouldn't pass the hd4850 for 130 bucks at Best Buy brand new?
