Well my professor in class said that if any of us are able to totall uninstall windows media player from our computer we would get an A for the class. I've never tried it and am not going to try this on my computer, but would like to see if any of you can do it. I'm guessing it's not an essy program to uninstall, but I may be wrong.
Later, Bob.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq.aspx#2_3 Seems easy enough

EDIT: I take that back, apparently all it does it roll back.

EDIT 2: From another website, i found this
We've hunted for solutions and listed our findings below. Microsoft claims that it is not possible to uninstall Media Player 10 because it's a feature of the operating system. Even though you can not remove it entirely, you can revert back to a previous version.
I guess you could find out what files it uses, then delete them all.

You can customize a windows installation so it doesnt include WMP, but i dont think that would count.

There are ways of uninstalling and removing WMP but you'd need some pretty complex software (that wouldn't affect the OS).
For one thing most files that you think are deleted through the Recycle Bin are not deleted, which the name recycle is truely self explanatory. All that happens to the file is that it get marked as deleted and thus that space that it once occupied lies dormant (in a way) until it is over-written by something else needs it.

Even formatting wouldn't remove a file, well it might that several HD formats to get rid of a file. And even that isn't very reliable. That why some people use Evidence Eliminator - which physically removes/ deletes the file for good. So someone who has deleted their porn pics still has them or bills/ credit card details for that matter.

The software that can recall the files that have been "deleted" is not reasily available to the public...you'd have to search for it.

after I replaced my mobo, I had a hell of a time getting wmp to work again, I think what I ended up doing was reverting all the way back to version 8 (which still wasn't working) but then installed 10 over it and it did work then, I tried uninstalling it a couple of times to no avail
