Hi wondering if anyone can help. I have windows 7 as my operating system, i have this on my primary 80gb hard drive. However i also have a secondary 160gb drive. Now what i want to do is put windows 7 on my secondary and make this primary and make the 80gb to secondary (also deleting windows from this). How do i do this? i was going to do it like this... Let me know if its wrong...

1. Format both drives in bios (ive already backed up my files)
2. Change the jumper on the hard drives. Change secondary to master and primary to slave.
3. Install windows 7 on the 160gb primary drive.

Thanks in advance

Are the hard drives IDE or SATA? With SATA, there are no jumpers to worry about.

The way I would do it is what you described -- just back up what you want to keep and then just start from scratch on both drives.

Unplug the 80gb. Install 7 on the 160gb. After the install, shutdown. Plug the 80gb back up. Boot up the new install, then drag any files over from the 80gb to it you need. Then from disk management on the new install format the 80gb.
