Hello everyone. Im looking to help pick out parts for a friend. Her son wants to build his own pc for games and internet. Her budget is $700 and we are in the US. Anyone have the time to work this up? I built my own about a year ago with you guys helping and it works great and was way cheaper than a store bought one. The one I built was not for gaming and to be honest I had no idea what I was doing and just followed the advice from here so I cant help her much.

Thanks

Do you know what type of games he plays? Need to know that information before we can recommend anything.

I would go for a FX 4300 over a 4170. Even then, grab a 4150 and bump the milti to equal 4.3 instead of buying the same chip factory OCd.

Yes I was going to recommend the FX-4300 too but Wolfe beat me to it.

Alternatively you could go for an i3 and get a board to match.

That is what I would personally go for over the AMD.

Might want to get a 7770 too, if you can't afford it though, the 7750 should be all right http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127687
