My problem is this: I have a Compaq V6000 and I cant get it to charge without constantly checking and moving the cord. It will light up and show its charging, then will stop until I mess with the cord. It is getting worse and is starting to become quite a pain. any suggestions?

VERY common problem with most any laptop. Essentially the solder has broken loose and the plug is no longer making a solid connection with the board. There's really nothing you can do besides open the computer up and resolder it. If you're not comfortable doing this, some computer shops may be willing to. Honestly it's very easy; the hard part's just getting to the plug :p

I was asked if I could re-solder a power plug back to a Mobo for a similar issue
I said no, because sometimes if you do this you can hurt the Mobo (ie Heat and dismantle and refit everything)
The job was just too critical to guarantee, therefore not every computer tech shop may do this for you
Plus the time and expense too ;)
