Connecting windows 98 to a router

Hi,

I have a dial-up network card in my 98 (and I connect through a Modem -> router connection) so i am trying to connect through my modem using a usb NET card. I am having trouble finding the driver for it, and I can't connect to the internet to find one either.

I also tried connecting it directly into the modem, but the comp couldn't find the modem, it is a netopia modem and a linksys router.

This is probably my first time setting up an internet connection.

Also, what kind of network card would I need to connect into my Router if I decided to do it like this?

thats the problem with 98 and 3.1.
ya have to set up all the drivers manually.
I would like to but out of the loop with this one.
XP Home would make your life a lot easier.
good luck.

thanks guess Ill google networking 98.

One question though. Does the computer need a driver to communicate with the modem or do I just type in the IP address, gateway, Subnet mask, etc?

I really only want to network my computer to my other home computers through a router.

Can this be done through a dial up network card?
