copying files with long file names

I need to copy files from one laptop to another but the said files wont copy because of the long filename problem. there are too many directories in the folder i'm copying and therefore it exceeeds the 255 character limit.

does anyone know of a workaround which will allow me to do this? i'm thinking some sort of cloning tool.

Can be made short by using "subst" in cmd. You can make x: point to it.
