CPU/Motherboard

Around December I'd like to get a new CPU (preferably AMD)/Motherboard along with a new video card. I'd like to keep my PSU, HDD, O/S, maybe my case too.
My budget would be around 500-600$.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
By the way I live in Canada so my budget would be 429.69-515.62$ USD.

Thanks a lot :D
I really like that CPU :)
I think the 4 GB RAM would be a waste because my O/S is Windows XP 32-bit.
Also do you know if these prices would go down by December? (Asking because I could save some money and buy something else :D)

Maybe, but by the time december rolls around i would just wait until Phenom III or whatever the successor to Phenom II is, rumors are saying it will have quad channel memory support. Might be time to upgrade to 64bit though:p

I could buy the processor you recommended and use the money I might save to get Windows 7 Pro 64-bit or something like that : P
Because that is the kind of processor I want :D (Quad core, and clocked over 3 Ghz right out of the box :D)

Sorry if I'm being a bit dim but I still don't really get it :S
Basically you know what a virtual machine is right? Its basically a virtual machine with full acceleration of graphics and everything, its for older programs that run fine in XP but wont run in vista, mainly used for office programs that wont run in vista/7. To a home user its pretty worthless.

Oh okay, I'll probably get home edition then :D thanks!

Also, now I am wondering if I should get a new case?
I have a XBlade computer case (best link I could find http://www.directron.com/xblades.html).

Might be worth it, the antec three hundred is a good case for the price, albeit without a side window. Coolermaster also has some nice cases with side windows, as well as the antec nine hundred/nine hundred two. It all depends on price range.

Is the antec 300 a full tower or mid tower?

I wasn't able to get money for a new computer in december but I will be able to update in May :D
And I noticed that the items I wanted are no longer available :(
Can anyone help me pick out an OS(Was thinking Win 7 Home Premium or Pro), Mobo, CPU and RAM with a budget of $500 CAD($494 USD) more or less?
I am useless when it comes to picking out these things : P

Nevermind, I found what I was looking for on tigerdirect :D
The CPU (Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4 GHz) I want is 189.97$ CAD
The Mobo (Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4) I want is 197.99$ CAD
Or this CPU/Mobo http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5569225&CatId=4297 for 329.99$ CAD (I'd save 50$)
With this heatsink http://ncix.com/products/?sku=35800&vpn=Dark Knight-S1283V&manufacture=Xigmatek for 69.99$
this RAM http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=39850&vpn=F3-12800CL8D-4GBTD&manufacture=G.Skill for 124.99$
And this OS http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=45275&vpn=FQC-00765&manufacture=Microsoft for 157.03$
And I will be using my case, psu and video card (plan to update to a ATI 5870 or a 4890 later on) (in sig)
Total: 682$ CAD (674.44$ USD) (with CPU/Mobo Deal) or 737.97$ CAD (729.8$ USD)
It is too expensive for me but I could maybe get by with 700$ CAD, I am aiming for a decent gaming rig, do you guys see where I could trim the fat? Or is this how much it will cost to have a decent gaming rig?
