Dell Inspiron 1000 Graphics

The Dell Inspiron 1000 uses a SiS M650 graphics adapter, which borrows 64MB of memory from the main system RAM

I'm planning on fixing my mums laptop up for myself as she doesnt want it anymore but i dont know alot about computers etc.

So far:

I'm going to add a new HD, probably 60gb maybe more if i can get a cheaper one.

Also, i'm buying a WLAN card for the pcmcia slot

I also want a decent graphics card (not amazing cos i dont play games really) I'll use it mainly for gfx and video editing. But the quote i got from CNET sounds bad... i'm fairly sure my mums inspiron doesnt have 512 ram (cant find out very easily as computer is at the office until next weekend i think). So surely if it's using memory from ram, im slowing the computer down?

So can anyone suggest a card for me?

Also, if i dont have 512 ram, what am i best to do? Buy a bit more or upgrade the processor first as i want it to be faster?

Thanks very much...

You can't replace the graphics card of the laptop, because it's intergrated.
If you want to increase the performance a bit,you can add more ram.
