This is the link to product specifications for my laptop:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-TouchSmart-m6-k000-Sleekbook/5375391/model/5447423/document/c03965961#AbT0
But it doesn't tell how many RAM slots are inside and it doesn't tell what I need to know regarding what RAM to purchase If it were two slots, I'd want to get just one 8GB chip for now so that when I can afford another 8GB chip, then I'll have the maximum 16GB that are allowed for this laptop.
I would just assume that there are 2 slots, but the bottom of the laptop looks fairly difficult to take off and I have not found a YouTube video as of yet with a similar enough model as mine on disassembly.
Once someone tells me which chip I need, does it matter if I get Kingston or PNY, etc. Or does brand name not really make much of a difference for laptops?
