External Hardrives in General, Maxtors in Particular

I am a newbie. Be gentle!

Because my computer memory is almost depleted, is it possible to input everything from a friend's external hardrive, into my external hardrive (a recently purchased Maxtor One Touch II 100GB), via my computer USB's (in and out) - whereas my computer is just the link between the two, with no need for anything to actually load / reside in my internal hardrive ? Maybe this is how it happens, yes?

I think he is wanting to hook both hard drives to his computer and move files from his to his friends.

As long as the computer detects both hard drives then yes, just drag and drop the files into his hard drive and delete them from yours.
